Well I don’t know how I kept this secret for so long like I did. Been itching to tell you about this for ages. It all started a couple of years ago, I was on a hotel rooftop in São Paulo when I got a phone call from an excited BT, “I think we just started a band” he said on the phone, I remember looking out to the skyline for a few awkward seconds of silence before replying “Yes we did, we started a band’.

It was something that has grown over the past two years, we had no Idea what we were going to sound like and no plan, just a huge love and respect for everything analog and also for our musical heroes, bands like Depeche Mode, Blue Nile, OMD to name just a few.

The whole record was recorded in a basement in Baltimore, a magical place called Analog Land. The studio is owned and  maintained by analog specialist and guru Jeffrey Koepper. The array of vintage synths we had to play with was insane, Arp 2600′s (yes plural), Oberheim’s, SEM’s, System 100′s, Prophet’s, Polaris’s, Moog’s, MS20′s, Jupiter’s, to name a few, piles of floppy disks, step sequencers and a mound of patch cables. BT made most of the snares, kicks by hand. We were in deep. The end result is a record that sounds like it fell out of 1983.

We recorded the whole record WITHOUT a computer, a very tricky and at times stressful task but highly rewarding and it has definitley influenced the sound of the record not just sonicaly but structuraly too.

This is just the beginning, we have major plans this year for All Hail The Silence and we can not wait to take the show on the road.

Hi, just wanted to write a little note before all the madness of NYE kicks in and everybody gets lost in a sea of alcohol and best shirts.

2011 has been an amazing year for me and my music, I have been lucky enough to have traveled all over the world sharing my songs with hundreds of thousands of people, Australia, China, South America, Europe, and a lot of shows in Eastern Europe…My feet have hardly left the ground and yes I have enough air miles miles to buy a small island. One of the highlights was being part of the huge Armin Only tour, it was breathtaking to perform to that many people night after night and I have definitely made some friends for life on that tour.

2011 was also the year I signed my artist album deal with Armada and I have been busy in the studio working on new songs for that over the past few months. Already penned about 8 songs for it and I have to say I am more than happy with the results. Some BIG named collaborations included in there. I will spill the beans about all that in the coming months.

For the past two years I have also been working very hard on another project with a good friend. It’s different but you are going to love it, this will all come to fruition in the first half of 2012. I wanna say more but fear I may be shot.

So only left for me to say a massive thank you for making 2011 one of the best years of my career so far and I can’t wait to share all of my new music with you next year.
